today momma and daddy took smelmo dog and gandy dog and i for a walk along the canal. we walked (erm, i was carried) from ambergate to cromford which is about 6 miles there and back. it was sooo pretty. 
it was really sunny so i had to wear my hat, 'cept it kept falling off and it turned out my mum ne
eded it more than i; 'cos she got really red. doesn't she look silly? get your own hat momma!when we reached high peak junction, we all stopped for a rest and an ice cream. i was allowed a taste of daddy's strawberry cornetto. i like strawberry cornetto! momma did not share.
on the way back we saw a mummy duck with a whole eight ducklings. they were only a few days old and very cute. they were hiding in the 
reeds so as you could hardly see and when mother duck said 'quack quack quack', they all came back - not like in that horrid song my mum sings to me!
